Emergence
Game made during the GMTK Game Jam 2025
KNOWN ISSUES:
- does not work on linux's firefox-based browsers.
- may need your window to be resized once for the mouse detection to be synchronized with the size of the window
HOW TO PLAY:
Create loops by clicking on a bubble, then on the next of its group and so on until you're back to the first bubble. In the tab on the left your score should go up. A visual indicator tells you if a bubble is the next in the loop (green, gain points) or not (orange, lose lots of points), when it appears blue it means you have not reached (yet) this bubble level (ranging 1-4) and it gives 0 points. You lose (lots of) point when bubbles disappear at the bottom of the screen.
There are a few additional mechanics but that's something you're supposed to figure out by yourself ;) The game ends when you trigger a specific event (and there may or may not be a second secret ending)
Hint 1
Maybe the tab on the left is not here by accident
Hint 2
Use the File System tab to its full potential
Hint 3
Keep playing and you'll have all 4 level ON, after that the game is almost finished, you'll just need to see everything a bit more clearly
Description:
This game was supposed to be a minimalist incremental knowledge based game but I clearly overscoped - and I'm not an artist so the art in the mini scenes in the end took waaay too long to make, I didn't have time to animate them, I wanted to have some cool explosions and in the end it doesn't even appear on screen because of a bug - , the result is a half-baked game but technically functional (so that's a win ?)
edit: the bug is fixed the mini animations in the end work

I didn't really know how to end the game so I took inspiration from https://pauseai.info, you should check it out it is very interesting.
